Dutch Holocaust Memorial of Names
Studio Libeskind & Rijnboutt
The National Holocaust Names Memorial, designed by Daniel Libeskind, consists of an ensemble of brick walls forming a layered and labyrinthine composition. Narrow passages, open spaces and shifting light define the spatial experience. The walls bear the names of more than 102,000 Jewish, Roma and Sinti victims of the Holocaust.
The architecture is sober and confronting, compelling visitors to slow down and reflect. In the film, the use of the memorial is central. By carefully visualizing its spatial complexity, it becomes clear how visitors move through the design and how architecture shapes their experience.
The film emphasizes human presence and emotion, showing the memorial as a place of remembrance and encounter. Space, movement and meaning come together in a clear and respectful translation of the design.
